We
can hardly free ourselves from the suggestion that these vivid massifs are
born straight from the earth, like an ever-bursting nucleus, like ancient old
bridges, on the bendable arches of which the entire creative power of nature
lies. Each single shape has its clearly differentiated genesis and in its very
trend towards transfusion in the other components, it varies with ingenuity
and beauty. Quite often, the gathered knotted parts bounce with a malleable
elegance or even with a sharp but perfectly balanced tension. The final results
of this masterly play are the more or less monumental silhouettes, the refined
in themselves intertwines and hitches, as well as a whole store of conquering
the space. Thus it halts being just an azure or isolated accent and becomes
a complex inner dimension where the sculptor Vassil Margaritov with lots of
sense and proportion achieves the balance between the solid substance and the
apertures. It is not easy to describe with words such kind of organic substance.
In spite of all if we let ourselves /which does not saves us from a certain
degree of subjectivism/ put an accent on the endless mutual outflows and the
specific closed homogeneity of the final variant we can point out that the
principle laying in the basis of the shape making in much of the works is quite
close to the idea that the alchemists have about “URBOROS”. The eternal dragon
that births itself and eats itself and thus becomes self-sufficient and independent,
androgen, initial undivided substance, that contains inside the uni psychophysical
world. On a symbolic level this mythological stamp is often described as an
endless circulation – a snake that had bitten its tail. The above-described
archetype image is amongst the most ancient in the history of culture and religion.
Its plastic realization in modern art is quite a difficult problem. In this
context the achievement of Vassil Margaritov deserve specific and serious attention.
His pieces of sculpture are far from the falsely attractive and illustrative
haberdashery that serves the burger taste of the newly enriched class. He follows
a path of his own and follows it with befitting responsibility and professionalism
that deserves respect. AHMED CHAUSHEV. Vassil Margaritov CV Born in 1965 in
